Patination

Patination involves the heating of a cast work, and the skilful application of metallic oxides, layer upon layer, until the desired effect is reached.

Each piece is therefore different, and the surface becomes an artwork in itself.

Metallic oxides used are potassium, iron, copper, titanium etc. Finally the piece is waxed to preserve the surface.

An occasional rub with a soft cloth is all that is needed to preserve the integrity of the surface.

Veda has worked with Antonio Lopez Reche for many years to formulate these unusual and enhancing patinas.
